Umi × Stripe
We’ve built on Stripe for over ten years. It has one of the most comprehensive development ecosystems available for payments, subscriptions and memberships, with a robust API and documentation that makes it a genuine pleasure to work with. That matters more in hospitality than people assume, because payment is where booking journeys most often fall apart. The guest has decided, and then something asks them to decide again.
Most of the conversion work we do sits in that final stretch, and Stripe gives us the control to take friction out of it rather than accept whatever the gateway imposes. Beyond individual implementations, Stripe Connect opens up a commercial model entirely: marketplace flows that let operators sell through tour operators and resellers while funds distribute automatically to the right parties.
Low-friction checkout
Payment built into the booking flow rather than bolted on at the end, with the steps between decision and confirmation reduced to the minimum the transaction actually requires.
Apple Pay, Google Pay and mobile wallets
Native wallet support where most of your traffic now sits, which removes card entry from the journey entirely for a large share of guests.
Subscriptions and memberships
Recurring billing for membership schemes, clubs and subscription products, handled properly rather than reconciled by hand each month.
Marketplace and reseller flows via Stripe Connect
A commercial engine for selling inventory through tour operators and resellers, with funds split and distributed to each party automatically.
Payment data into the intelligence layer
Stripe webhooks feeding transaction data into customer data platforms and into Mio, so revenue reporting reflects what was actually taken rather than what a booking system expected.
